Counting of votes is underway for the by-elections to three Assembly constituencies in Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Polling for the Bankipur constituency in Bihar, Manjalpur in Gujarat and Datia in Madhya Pradesh was held on the 30th of last month.
Postal ballots is being counted first, followed by the counting of votes recorded in Electronic Voting Machines.The Election Commission has made robust security arrangements to ensure smooth counting in all three states.
In Madhya Pradesh, counting for the Datia Assembly seat is being held at Government Polytechnic College, where 20 counting tables have been set up.
