In an attempt to revive the Congress in Tripura and also to expand its base before the 2023 Assembly elections the PCC has embarked upon digital membership drive. The PCC leaders in a meeting at the Congress Bhavan on Tuesday felt that time had come to use the new technology, especially digital technology to break the barrier and reach out to the youths as much and as far as possible. The meeting was attended by among others, the national leader of the party Abdul Hannan, Pradesh Returning Officer N Pritam and State Party president Birajit Sinha were present in the meeting.
Sinha said every block level president has been entrusted with ensuring 500 memberships while a target of 1000 memberships has been set for the Nine Organizational districts of party. He also said Rahul Bol is the in-charge of the digital membership drive.
Sinha also said the digital membership drive will continue up to March 31 next. A Series of meetings are going on to ensure a successful membership drive.
“I expect record membership this time. All the workers are in an upbeat mood and will actively participate in the drive. Already over 6000 memberships have been collected”, Birajit Sinha told the media.
All the frontal organizations of the party will participate and works to this end is underway at a good speed. Meetings at all levels have been conducted and will be held as when required to add further momentum in this membership drive, Party sources said.
Meantime, Abdul Hannan while interacting with the media claimed that BJP would not be able to form a Government in Uttar Pradesh.
