In Jharkhand, a fierce encounter is going on between the police and the Naxalites in the Kashitand forest of Lugu hills located under the Jageshwar Bihar police station area of Bokaro district. Reports said that intermittent firing is ongoing from both sides. A soldier of the Cobra battalion has been martyred in this encounter.
According to sources, Jharkhand’s hardcore Naxalite Kunwar Manjhi, carrying a reward of Rupees 25 lakhs, has also been killed in the encounter. The Security forces have launched a large-scale joint operation with the District Police, the Cobra battalion, and the CRPF. Security forces are surrounding the Naxals. Search operations have been intensified in the adjoining areas, and the administration has been alerted.
