Coal production stands at over 69 Million Tonnes during last month: Govt

 
The country’s coal supply position for the power sector continues to remain adequate, backed by robust growth in production, despatch and receipts during the last month. Ministry of Coal informed that the overall coal production during the previous month stood at over 69 Million Tonnes (MT), as against more than 64 MT during the corresponding period last year. Overall coal despatch during the month stood even higher, at more than 86 MT compared to over 73 MT in the same period last year, marking a robust growth of more than 18 percent.
The Ministry said that it remains fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and adequate coal supply to all consumers, particularly the power sector, to support the nation’s growing energy needs.
