New Delhi/IBNS: Indias coal production in FY23 up to November stands at 524.2 MT, up 17 percent as compared to about 448.1 MT during the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Coal.
Central Electricity Authority (CEA) informed that the coal stock available at coal-based thermal power plants in the country is about 31 MT as on December 7, 2022, which is sufficient for an average of about 11 days at a requirement of 85 percent PLF, the ministry said, adding that as such, there is no coal shortage in the country.
Coal-based power generation during April-November in FY23 stood at 747.8 Billion Units, accounting for 68.6 percent of the total generation of 1089.9 Billion Units, the ministry said.
