The next Northeast Council (NEC) meeting, scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 1 will be held in Agartala and the state is preparing to make it a grand success..
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said, “It is indeed a happy day as the NEC meeting will be held in Tripura. In the past, we used to travel to Assam and Meghalaya to attend NEC meetings. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, will attend the event. Apart from them Chief Ministers and Governors of Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland will also present in the meeting. In this meeting, we will address all issues related to Tripura, including border and developmental concerns. We will also showcase the innovative work happening in Tripura, and discussions will be held with other Northeastern states.”
Dr. Saha added that he would chair a review meeting to oversee the arrangements, given the large number of delegates expected to attend the NEC meeting on August 31 and September 1.
In the meantime, all state machineries are put in full gear to make the NEC meeting a grand success. Already several meetings were held and Hotel rooms , more than 240 were booked for the VIPs who would be coming here. Security arrangements were being made full proof and special arrangements were bing made.
