Even as the Covid surge continued Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha asked the concerned officials of the health department to prioritize the health services sector and implement the central and state government projects and complete the deficient areas within the stipulated time frame.

The Chief Minister held the virtual meeting on Friday to review the overall health care facilities of the state as well as Covid situation and preparedness.

He directed the officials to keep a regular watch on the situation of the present Covid-19 situation in the state and take action accordingly. He also emphasized upon raising awareness among the people in this regard.

In this virtual meeting, the achievements, progress of work, future work plans and various new initiatives of the four directorates of the Health department were discussed in detail. Secretary of the Health department J K Sinha who is also Chief Secretary spoke elaborately about the ongoing works of the department in the meeting.

In meeting, the Chief Minister suggested taking necessary steps to increase the services of specialist doctors in various district hospitals and sub-divisional hospitals of the state.

Dr Saha emphasized upon the importance of keeping in view the improvement of services to the patients along with infrastructure development in various levels of health services. Also, new recruitment in the health department, use of modern equipment, covid vaccination etc. were discussed in the meeting.
