As a part of Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday inaugurated an online service for issuing fire No Objection Certificate.

Initially, the online service has been launched in West Tripura district where maximum numbers of applications for fire NOC are received.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the new facility would not only bring transparency in the system but also help the citizens get prompt service without any harassment.

Deb said the online service would be provided based on self-certification and legal action would be taken in case of any false declaration. In this context, he asked the people looking for this service to be aware while filing the self-declaration.

Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said an initiative has already been taken for identification of land, demarcation and mapping by using drone technology through Svamitva App of the central government.

While speaking at the occasion the Fire and Emergency Services Minister Ram Prasad Paul said the new online facility opened a new horizon in providing citizens’ service.

Secretary of the Fire and Emergency Services department- Apurba Roy described the new initiative in details while NOC Senior Technical Director A.K. Dey also participated in the discussion.

A government press release said the Chief Minister handed over fire no objection certificates to some online applicants during the programme.
