A day after 105-year-old Tarakanya Debbarma of Brahmacherra village in Gomati district took the first dose of Covid vaccine; Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb met her on Monday as a token of courtesy.
During his visit, Deb said, unable to hear and walk properly due to old age issues, the lady who came forward to take the vaccine at such an age group is an inspiration.
With this example, the Chief Minister urged all left-out people aged above 18 years to take vaccines during the two-day special drive commencing from Tuesday.
He also passed an instruction to the officials concerned for arranging a wheelchair as well as hearing device for the lady, according to a government press release.
The state government has initiated the special drive on July 27 and 28 respectively to cover all the left-out people among the eligible population.
Deb was accompanied by MLA Biplab Ghosh, DM Gomati Raval Hamendra Kumar and other high officials during his visit to Gomati district.
