In a proactive move to oversee law enforcement efforts, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha paid a surprise visit to the Amtali Police Station today in Agartala.
This unannounced inspection showcased the government’s commitment to ensuring public safety and efficient police operations. The Chief Minister made the visiti on his way back home from Sonamura where he had gone for attending a poll rally for the BJP.
During his visit, Dr. Saha toured the facility, engaging in discussions with senior police officials and staff.
The focus of the visit was to assess the overall functioning, infrastructure, and readiness of the Amtali Police Station to address community security needs effectively.
Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, reassuring the public that their safety remains a top priority for the state government.
There has been a proposal for setting up a police outpost in view of the huge jurisdiction of Amtali police station. The Chief Minister assured that the proposal would be taken into consideration.
This unexpected visit by Dr Saha underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
During the visit of Dr. Saha, Sub-divisional Police officer Asish Dasgupta and Officer-in Charge of Amtali Police Station Ranjit Debnath was present.
