Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has expressed solidarity with the construction workers who have lost their income due to the recent floods and has announced a one-time financial assistance of Rs 4,000 for these workers.
On Facebook, Dr Saha announced that the state government has decided to offer this assistance to help them cope with the financial strain caused by the severe floods that have impacted Tripura since August 19.
He said that the floods disrupted their livelihoods for approximately eight consecutive days.
Dr. Saha highlighted the suffering of construction workers, who, like other residents of Tripura, have been severely affected by the floods.
A total of Rs 17,19,24,000 has been allocated for this assistance, which will benefit the 42,981 registered construction workers across the state. 
The distribution of registered workers by district are West Tripura District have 13,148, Sepahijala District have 5,899, in Gomati District 5,698, South Tripura District have 4,133, Khowai District have 4,529, Dhalai District have 3,592, Unakoti District have 3,861 and North Tripura District have 2,121.
This measure aims to provide some relief to the workers affected by the recent natural calamity.
