Donating blood rising above all kinds of differences is the noblest deed. An amiable bond forms for one another through donating blood where there is no place for religious, racial or communal differences, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating the blood donation camp conducted on the occasion of 41st foundation day of Shri Shri Mahanam Angan today. He said, religious people visit temples and Maths to discover themselves properly, as these religious places are the perfect place to know oneself. Shri Shri Mahanam Angan Ashram is conducting this blood donation camp as part of their social welfare activities. The Chief Minister called on the Ashram to come forward for conducting different kinds of social works just as the blood donation camp in future.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder in the programme said, blood donation camps are being conducted in the state in festive mood presently. Different club, social organizations conduct blood donation camps. Some even conduct blood donation camp in their private functions as it is a sacred deed. A dying patient can be saved through donating blood. He said, a huge change has been brought in health care system with the sincere efforts of the present state government. As a result, patients now don’t have to go outside the state to get treatment. Infrastructures to perform complicated surgeries now are available in the state.
National President of the Mahanam Community Shrimat Upasakbandhu Brahmachari Maharaj said, the Mahanam Angan was established in 1982. The Ashram often conducts blood donation camps as it conducts other welfare activities. Others present in the programme were Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha, Municipal Councilor Ratna Dutta, Secretary of Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sevak Sangha Sudip Kumar Roy and Vice President Rabindra Chandra Saha.
