Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb asked the Industries department to chalk out a road map and formulate policies to that investors from Bangladesh could be interested in setting up of industrial units in the state,
The Chief Minister in a review meeting with the Industries and Commerce department at the civil secretariat on Friday stressed on the need of reaching out to the big investors with details of the state’s potentials, resources and expected benefits. He laid special emphasis on bamboo, honey and rubber based industries , apart from Agar.
“The investors should be encouraged and the onus for that rests on us “, he said referring to SEZ.
He also stressed on setting up more manufacturing units in the state for generating employment scopes to local people.
Deb asked the department concerned for taking initiative to set up a Border Haat at Simna. Besides, he asked the officials to ensure timely completion of all ongoing border haat projects as well as to develop the existing border haats.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister took review of various ongoing works and discussed them in length.
Director T.K. Chakma apprised the meeting about the upgradation of Badharghat, R.K. Nagar and A.D. Nagar industrial estates. He also presented the latest position of all eight notified Land Customs Stations.
Chakma informed the meeting that a plan was in the pipeline to transform Women’s ITI into a model ITI. He also gave an overview of the new initiatives and annual work plan for the financial year 2021-22.
Industries and Commerce minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Chief Secretary Kumar Alok and Secretary P.K. Goyal among others were present in the review meeting.
