In a election rally held in Kanchanpur of the North district, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha vehemently criticized the Congress and CPIM for their purported failure to undertake significant developmental initiatives for the Janajati people during their lengthy tenures in power. Dr. Saha’s address resonated with support for BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma, underscoring the strides made under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership towards fostering respect and prosperity among Janajati communities.
Dr. Saha particularly highlighted the commendable efforts of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the recognition and rehabilitation of the Bru people, previously labelled as refugees in Tripura. He contrasted this with the perceived inaction of the former communist government in addressing the issue over a 23-year period.
Asserting the BJP’s commitment to the development of Janajati communities, Dr. Saha pointed out the establishment of the Tribal Ministry during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He underscored the continuity of Vajpayee’s legacy under the current leadership of Narendra Modi, portraying Tripura’s rapid advancements across various sectors as a testament to this continuity.
In urging support for the BJP candidate in the upcoming elections for the East Tripura seat on April 26, Dr. Saha rallied for a decisive victory, emphasizing the imperative of backing Modi’s leadership for the third consecutive term as Prime Minister.
