A violent clash between two families in North Charilam over rainwater drainage left several injured on Saturday. Three people sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. The dispute began after water flowed from one house into another, sparking a physical altercation. Police are investigating the incident.

A clash between two neighboring families over rainwater drainage turned violent on Saturday morning, leaving several people injured, including three in serious condition.

The altercation broke out following a brief spell of rain in the area. According to local sources, water from the residence of Soyel Alam began flowing into the adjacent property owned by Anan Hossain. In an effort to stop the water from entering their home, Anan’s mother reportedly constructed a small embankment. This act triggered a heated confrontation, resulting in an alleged sudden attack by members of Soyel Alam’s family.

During the scuffle, Anan’s mother was reportedly assaulted, and her chain was forcibly taken away. The violence quickly escalated, leading to physical injuries on both sides. Three individuals were seriously hurt and were immediately rushed to the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

A formal complaint has been lodged with the Bishalgarh Police Station against the accused. Police officials have stated that an investigation is underway, and necessary action will be taken based on the findings.

The incident has sparked concern in the local community, highlighting the fragile nature of interpersonal relations and the need for better infrastructure to manage rainwater in residential areas.
