A deadly clash between two groups in Tripura’s Bishalgarh Ghaniamara left one dead and several injured, including a child. Authorities have deployed heavy security and launched a manhunt for the accused. Tensions remain high as investigations continue into the brutal violence that shook the area.

A violent clash between two groups erupted in the Ghaniamara area of Bishalgarh in Tripura, resulting in the tragic death of one individual and leaving at least seven to eight others injured. The incident has triggered significant tension in the region, prompting the deployment of a large contingent of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and police personnel to maintain law and order.

Local sources informed that the clash stemmed from a sudden altercation between youths from Uttar Mura and South Durganagar. What began as a verbal dispute quickly escalated into a brutal confrontation, with both groups allegedly wielding deadly weapons. Disturbing videos and photos circulating on social media show the intensity of the violence and confirm the presence of lethal arms in the hands of the attackers.

During the melee, a local resident identified as Tofazzal Hossain from South Durganagar was found critically injured and bleeding on the road. His family members rushed to the scene and attempted to transport him to the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, tensions flared once again when the driver of the vehicle carrying Hossain allegedly tried to run over the gathering crowd. This triggered a second wave of violence, leading to further injuries.

Among the injured were at least seven individuals, including a child whose condition is said to be critical. All the wounded were immediately taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, four of them, including the child, were referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala for advanced treatment.

A senior police officer confirmed the death of one individual involved in the clash. The deceased has been identified as Bacchu Miah, also known as Rajjaq Miah. His brother-in-law has lodged a police complaint, and an FIR has been registered based on his statement. Police have since launched a series of raids to arrest those named in the FIR. However, the accused remain absconding as of now.

The situation remains tense, and local authorities are monitoring developments closely. High-level officials, including District Magistrate and Secretary Kiran Gitte, visited the area along with local MLAs to assess the ground situation and appeal for calm. Security forces are on high alert to prevent any further escalation of violence.

This incident has once again raised concerns over rising group rivalries and law and order issues in the Bishalgarh subdivision. The local administration has assured that all necessary steps are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace in the area.
