Delhi Police registered an FIR after an alleged attack on a Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel during the CJP protest in Delhi. A total of 10 FIRs have been filed as investigations continue into clashes, vandalism, and public order violations.
The Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) after an alleged attack on a Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in the national capital. Officials confirmed on Wednesday that the case was initiated following the emergence of videos on social media that purportedly showed protesters assaulting an RAF officer and damaging an official vehicle during the demonstration.
According to the police, the videos circulating online allegedly depict protesters pelting stones at an RAF vehicle and vandalising it amid the confrontation. The footage is currently being examined as part of the investigation to determine the sequence of events and identify those responsible for the alleged violence.
The FIR was registered after authorities reviewed the available evidence, and investigators have begun collecting additional material, including video recordings and witness accounts. Police officials said further details regarding the accused individuals and the specific charges to be invoked will be determined as the investigation progresses.
The Delhi Police also confirmed that a total of 10 FIRs have been registered so far in connection with the CJP protest and other law-and-order incidents reported during the demonstration. The cases relate to separate incidents that occurred across central Delhi during the protest.
Among the registered cases, Parliament Street Police Station has recorded four FIRs, while Connaught Place Police Station has registered three. One FIR each has also been filed at Mandir Marg Police Station, Barakhamba Road Police Station, and Kartavya Path Police Station.
Officials stated that the registered cases involve allegations ranging from obstruction of public servants and damage to public property to violations affecting public order. Investigations into each case are being conducted independently, with police reviewing evidence from multiple sources, including CCTV footage and videos shared online.
The legal action follows clashes that erupted during the CJP-led ‘Sansad Chalo’ march on Monday. Thousands of protesters, including students, had gathered at Jantar Mantar and attempted to march towards Parliament despite restrictions imposed by the authorities. Police had erected barricades and deployed security personnel to ensure that the protesters remained within the designated protest area.
As the march progressed, confrontations reportedly broke out between sections of the protesters and security personnel, leading to allegations of stone-pelting, damage to government vehicles, and disruption of public order. Security forces were deployed in significant numbers to prevent the situation from escalating further.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Tuesday rejected several claims circulating on social media regarding alleged stone-pelting incidents and police action, describing some of the viral videos as “false and misleading.”
In a post on the social media platform X, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) clarified that no such incident had occurred on Tuesday and urged citizens not to circulate or rely on unverified videos or messages. The police appealed to the public to depend only on official communication channels for authentic information related to the protest and the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have reiterated that investigations into all ten FIRs are continuing. Officials said evidence is being scrutinised to establish the facts surrounding the incidents, identify those involved in any unlawful activities, and ensure appropriate legal action in accordance with the law. The Delhi Police have also urged the public to maintain peace and cooperate with the investigation while refraining from sharing unverified information that could create confusion or spread misinformation.
