Actress Chitrangda Singh joins Salman Khan’s war drama Battle of Galwan, calling it a “truly special” opportunity. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Chitrangda’s powerful role adds emotional depth to the intense story of Indian soldiers’ bravery.

Actress Chitrangda Singh is all set to appear in the highly anticipated war drama Battle of Galwan, headlined by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Taking to her official Instagram handle, Chitrangda expressed heartfelt gratitude for being included in the project, calling the opportunity “truly special.”

Sharing a graceful picture of herself dressed in a white salwar kameez, Chitrangda reposted the official announcement by Salman Khan Films, adding her own message:
“Thank you so much for making me part of this .. it is truly special! I look forward to working with the whole team.”

The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the real-life confrontation between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley during June 2020. This face-off, which led to the first fatalities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in 45 years, highlighted the bravery and unflinching determination of Indian soldiers, who defended the nation under some of the most challenging circumstances—armed only with makeshift weapons like stones and sticks due to the ban on firearms in the region.

Director Apoorva Lakhia, known for films like Shootout at Lokhandwala and Haseena Parkar, revealed why Chitrangda was the perfect choice for a crucial role in Battle of Galwan.
“I’ve always wanted to work with Chitrangda since I watched her in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Bob Biswas,” said Lakhia. “She brings a rare combination of strength and emotional sensitivity to the screen. Her feminine grace will perfectly balance the brooding but quiet strength of Salman Sir’s character.”

According to sources close to the production, Lakhia was particularly impressed by Chitrangda’s natural poise and quiet confidence in some candid photographs she posted from India Gate. These visuals captured the very essence of the character Lakhia had envisioned—resilient, graceful, and emotionally deep.

The film aims to delve deep into the untold human stories behind the Galwan clash. While the military engagement itself is an integral part, the film will also spotlight the emotions, families, and personal sacrifices of the soldiers involved. With such a layered narrative, the director was on the lookout for actors who could convey intense vulnerability and inner strength with subtlety—qualities that Chitrangda Singh embodies effortlessly.

A source added, “Lakhia wanted someone who could express complex emotions with her eyes and silence. Chitrangda has that rare ability. She’s not just playing a character; she’s bringing a soul to the screen.”

Battle of Galwan has already generated immense curiosity, especially after the release of Salman Khan’s fierce first-look poster. His rugged appearance, fierce expression, and battle-ready stance have ignited excitement among fans and critics alike.

Chitrangda’s addition to the cast only amplifies the buzz surrounding the film. Her role, though still under wraps, is said to be central to the narrative, possibly portraying the wife or a close family member of one of the soldiers. Her emotional arc will likely serve as the emotional anchor of the war drama.

With the powerful pairing of Salman Khan’s intensity and Chitrangda Singh’s nuanced performance, Battle of Galwan promises to be more than just a patriotic war movie—it aims to be a cinematic tribute to valor, sacrifice, and national pride.
