In Bangladesh, the July Declaration will be presented before the nation at 5 pm tomorrow. The declaration will be unveiled at a public gathering at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in Dhaka.
Chief Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh Prof. Muhammad Yunus is expected to be present on the occasion, reports Bangladesh Sanghbad Sangstha (BSS).
The July declaration is an official declaration of the July Mass Uprising of 2024 in Bangladesh. The declaration, reportedly prepared under strict confidentiality, outlines 26 points addressing political, constitutional, and governance issues. Disagreements persist among political parties regarding the contents of the declaration as well as whether it should be incorporated into the constitution.
A preliminary draft of the charter was released on 28 July 2025, following a series of consultations involving 30 political parties. These discussions were facilitated by the National Consensus Commission, a commission formed by the Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to draft the document. After further deliberation and review, the participating parties are expected to formally sign and adopt the final version of the charter.
