Chebri Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Tripura’s Khowai district has achieved National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) accreditation from the Union Health Ministry. The first-time certification recognizes excellence in patient care, infrastructure, cleanliness and hospital management, while securing an annual Rs 3 lakh incentive to further strengthen healthcare services.

Chebri Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Khowai district has been awarded the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) accreditation by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The recognition marks a major milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance the quality of healthcare services at the grassroots level.

Chebri PHC earned the coveted certification during its very first assessment, highlighting its excellence in patient care, healthcare infrastructure, cleanliness, safety protocols, and overall hospital management. The accreditation reflects the centre’s commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery while ensuring quality medical services for patients.

Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr. Ranjit Debbarma attributed the success to the collective dedication and hard work of the doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and other healthcare workers. He stated that the NQAS certification is a testament to the team’s continuous efforts to improve patient care and strengthen public confidence in government healthcare facilities.

Dr. Debbarma further expressed optimism that the national recognition would inspire the healthcare team to maintain and further improve service quality in the coming years. He emphasized that the accreditation would serve as a benchmark for delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centric healthcare services.

With the NQAS accreditation, Chebri PHC will receive an annual financial incentive of approximately Rs 3 lakh from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The incentive will be utilized to upgrade healthcare infrastructure, expand patient services, procure essential medical facilities, and further improve the overall functioning of the health centre.
