The central government has given priority for financial development in rural areas. The aim of the government is to improve the infrastructure and socio-economic standards of every village in the country. Union Minister for state of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said this while inaugurating various newly constructed projects in East Gokulnagar Model village of Bishalgarh block on Friday.
At the programme, the Union Minister for State said that the Central Government has taken various initiatives to strengthen the economic base of the country by proper implementation of Self governance at village level. Prime Minister in “Maan ki baat” has mentioned to build one ‘Amrit Sarovar’ in each villages with the help of Mplad fund. By 2023, one ‘Amrit Sarovar’ will be constructed in each villages. The Union Minister of State said with the help of the central government, drinking water connection has reached every corner of the villages. Electricity has reached villages under the Saubhagya Yojana. Emphasis has been placed for women’s empowerment through the formation of self-help groups.
The Union Minister also said that work is underway to build a model village in Tripura with the initiative of the Prime Minister. East Gokulnagar Gram Panchayat of Bishalgarh block has been made a model village. Out of 206 families under this panchayat, 126 families have been provided with permanent housing under the Pradhan mantra Awas Yojana. Toilets have been constructed for 182 families. 60 families of the gram panchayat have been made self-reliant in agriculture, horticultural fruits and crops, livestock and fisheries. Moreover, the people of this gram panchayat are getting the benefit of various schemes of the central and state government.
It may be noted that the Union Minister of State for Social Justice inaugurated 6 projects in East Gokulnagar Gram Panchayat today. The Project includes CIT Park, a new Anganwadi centre built at a cost of Rs 2.15 crore, Gokulnagar S.B School mid-day meal dining hall, market stall, Cattle farm and ermin compost fertilizer making centre constructed at a cost of rupees 16 lakh 68 thousand.
