Agartala, Nov 29: The central government is working with special emphasis on women empowerment, Union Minister of Social Justice said.
The Ministry of Social Welfare of the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is creating One Stop Centre to protect the women of the country and solve the problems of women at workplace.
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar said this while inaugurating One Stop Centre in Khowai.
He said, “It should be noted that 48 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of this One Stop Centre.”
He said that the central and state governments are working for ensuring that there is no injustice to women in the society so that women can live with dignity in the society. That’s why this initiative has been taken.
He said, a woman takes positive role in driving her family in the right direction. So they should be respected. Central government has launched several schemes in that direction.
On the occasion, Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Santana Chakma said that One Stop Centres are being established in all districts of Tripura targeting women who are physically and mentally abused in the society.
He said that the present government is working to protect women and make them self-reliant. MLA Prashanta Debbarma also spoke on the occasion. Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Smitha Mol delivered the welcome speech. Chairman of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydeb Debbarma presided over the programme.
At the end of the programme, Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar participated in an exchange programme with the beneficiaries ofdifferent schemes of the Central and State Governments at Khowai New Town Hall. These schemes are helping in the economic development of the society. Central government has launched several schemes to help self-help groups to build self-reliant India. He said central and state governments are working to create self-reliant mindset among divyangjans too.
In the exchange programme, Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Santana Chakma said that the government is working with priority to make women self-reliant in the state. In the development of rural economy, women are being included in self-help groups and in several economic processes. Through this women in the rural parts of the state are becoming self-reliant. Chairman of Khowai Zilla Parishad Joydeb Debbarma also spoke among others.SHG members and beneficiaries of different schemes shared their success story.
