The Cabinet on Wednesday approved continuation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Fast Track Special Courts for further two years till 31st March 2023. Briefing media Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, 1,023 Fast Track Special Courts have been given get two-year extension. He said, 389 exclusive POCSO courts will also get extension. He said, central share of outlay will be funded from Nirbhaya fund.

This will provide speedy justice access to justice to victims of sexual crimes, quick justice to the hapless victims and declogging of ther judicial system. It will help in reduction in number of pending cases of rape and POCSO Act.

The Cabinet today also approved continuation of Samagra Shiksha Scheme for School Education for five years from 1st April this year to 31st March 2026. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, the Financial outlay is over 2 lakh 94 thousand 283 crore rupees which includes Central share of more than 1 lakh 85 thousand 398 crore rupees. He said, it will covers 1.16 million schools, over 156 million students and 5.7 million Teachers of Government and aided schools.

Mr Pradhan said, in the scheme, there will be greater focus on imparting skills among the students and all child centric interventions will be provided directly to the students through DBT mode over a period of time. He said, there will be access to quality education with an equitable and inclusive classroom environment.
