In Cricket, India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has hinted that pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is likely to feature in the fourth Test at Manchester. Speaking at a press conference, ten Doeschate said a final decision will be taken closer to the match but acknowledged that, with the series hanging in the balance, the team is inclined to include Bumrah in the playing XI.
On Arshdeep Singh, who is nursing a suspected hand injury, ten Doeschate said the extent of the issue remains unclear. Left-arm pacer was hit by a ball during the training session and was rushed to the doctor.
India also faces uncertainty over the fitness of vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who injured a finger on his left hand while keeping wickets in the previous Test. Pant did not return to keep for the remainder of the match and was visibly in discomfort while batting. Addressing Pant’s condition, ten Doeschate said the management is giving his finger as much time as possible and hoped the wicket-keeper batter will be fit and ready for the Manchester test.
