Buddhist Religious Leader and Dhamma Deepa Foundation Chairman Bhante Dr. Dhamma Priya emphasizes social unity and values-based education at RSS Tripura’s closing event.

Emphasizing that training is essential not only for spiritual growth but also for national development, Buddhist religious leader Bhante Dr. Dhamma Priya delivered a powerful message of unity, discipline, and character-building at the public valedictory ceremony of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Tripura Prant’s annual Sangh Shiksha Varg on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Dr. Dhamma Priya, who is the Chairman of the Dhamma Deepa Foundation and Vice-Chancellor of the Dhamma Deepa International Buddhist University, addressed hundreds of attendees at Seva Dham, Purba Champamura, where the intensive training camp had been ongoing since April 20. “No one is born with knowledge; everything must be learned,” he remarked. “Even selfless service to society requires discipline and training. That is why such initiatives are vital—they help ignite patriotism and awaken a deep commitment to service.”

Calling on the public to unite for societal uplift, he noted that only through continuous moral training can one become a “true human being”—conscious, compassionate, and socially responsible. His remarks set the tone for the ceremony, which marked the culmination of weeks of rigorous training undertaken by swayamsevaks (volunteers) from all walks of life across Tripura.

As in previous years, the Sangh Shiksha Varg served as a platform for physical, ideological, and cultural education. The RSS has long regarded this annual camp as essential for grooming disciplined, service-minded citizens who can contribute to the betterment of the nation. This year’s camp drew participation from students, doctors, engineers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and other professionals—reflecting the broad reach of the RSS in Tripura.

The keynote address was delivered by Ashok Biswas, Prant Bouddhik Pramukh (State Ideological Head), who gave an in-depth account of the RSS’s century-long mission of individual and national transformation. He highlighted how the Sangh, through its vast network of shakhas (daily grassroots gatherings), continues to shape character, instill patriotism, and promote selfless service.

Paying tribute to RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Shri Biswas detailed the early days of the organization and its foundational goals. He also spoke at length about Eknath Ranade, an eminent RSS pracharak (full-time worker), whose tireless efforts led to the establishment of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari—now a symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural unity.

In his remarks,  Biswas also provided insight into the RSS’s affiliated organizations, known collectively as the Sangh Parivar. These bodies work in diverse areas such as education, healthcare, rural development, and disaster relief, offering a model of socially integrated service delivery.

With the RSS set to complete 100 years on Vijayadashami Day in 2025, he urged all swayamsevaks to recommit themselves to the Sangh’s ideals. “The centenary is not just a milestone—it is a moment for deeper reflection and greater dedication. Each of us must become a torchbearer of patriotism and work tirelessly for societal progress.”

The camp’s curriculum balanced physical exercises, ideological discourse, yoga, cultural activities, and social service tasks, aiming to build both the body and the mind. Through this holistic approach, the RSS continues to nurture future leaders rooted in discipline, devotion to duty, and national pride.

With the conclusion of the 2025 Sangh Shiksha Varg, the RSS Tripura Prant has once again underscored its commitment to building a strong, united, and service-oriented society—guided by the vision of “man-making and nation-building” that has defined its work for nearly a century.
