The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed on Thursday due to the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections. Trading in equity, derivatives and commodity segments will remain suspended, while contracts expiring on 15th January will be settled a day earlier. The Maharashtra government has also declared a public holiday on the day to facilitate voting across 29 municipal corporations.
