Brandon Nakashima and Ben Shelton reach Canadian Open final in Montreal

In Canadian Open Tennis, American Brandon Nakashima defeated Spain’s Rafael Jodar 7-6(3) 6-4 in the Men’s Singles semi-finals at Montreal, this morning to reach ‌the Canadian Open final. This puts the American one win away ​from his first Masters ​1000 title ahead of the ⁠U.S. Open. 
 
In the other semifinal, defending champion Ben Shelton has reached the finals in Montreal after defeating fellow American Learner Tien 6-2, 6-3 this morning. Shelton, who has yet to drop a single set in his entire title defense campaign, will face countryman Brandon Nakashima for the Masters 1000 trophy. 
 
In the Women’s Singles, fourth seed Coco Gauff defeated second seed Elena Rybakina in a grueling 2-hour and 50-minute blockbuster semifinal in Toronto this morning, winning 6-4, 6-7(8), 7-6(3). In another semi-final match, seventh seed Iga Świątek defeated ninth seed Elina Svitolina with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in Toronto this morning.
