On the occasion of Ashokastami Tithi, the 3-day Brahmakunda Mela will be held on April 8 to April 10 at Brahmakunda in Simna of Mohanpur sub-division. A review meeting was organised in this regard on April 4 at the conference hall of Brahmakunda Panchayat office.
MLA Brishaketu Debbarma, Chairperson of Brahmakunda Panchayat Samiti Rina Debbarma, Hezamara BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma, Mohanpur SDM Subhash Dutta, Mohanpur SDPO Dr. Kamal Majumdar, Mohanpur Block BDO Narayan Chandra Majumdar, and social activist Jogendra Debbarma were present in the meeting.
The Mela will be inaugurated by Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Choudhury on April 8. Different line departments such as Forest, DWS, ARDD, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Fisheries and Education department, Hezamara and Mohanpur block, and Mohanpur sub-division administration will open exhibitory stalls at the event. Cultural event will be held with the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs department.
