Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been adjourned till 2:00 PM amid sloganeering by the opposition members over various issues. When the Lok Sabha met after the first adjournment at noon, the opposition members continued their sloganeering, demanding discussion on Special Intensive Revision in Bihar and other issues. They also demanded the withdrawal of the SIR in Bihar. Amid the noisy scene, Youth Affairs and Sport Minister Mansukh Mandaviya introduced the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Presiding officer Sandhya Ray, who was in the chair, tried to conduct Zero Hour, but the opposition members trooped into the well shouting slogans and disrupted the proceedings. She emphasised that the government is ready to discuss the issues raised by the opposition, but they are not allowing the House to function. As the pandemonium continued, the Chair adjourned the House till 2:00 PM. Earlier, when the House met at 11 AM, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla took up Question Hour, but the opposition members started sloganeering, demanding discussion on Special Intensive Revision in Bihar and other issues. Mr Birla appealed to the opposition to allow Question Hour, saying that people of the country are watching their conduct. He expressed concern about creating disruption and displaying placards inside the House. The Lok Speaker appealed to the opposition to allow discussion on issues as per the prescribed rule.
Amid the noisy scene, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw replied to a question related to Railway Projects in Bihar. The Opposition members continued their protest, due to which the Speaker adjourned the House till noon. A similar scene was witnessed in the Rajya Sabha when it assembled after the first adjournment at noon. Ghanshyam Tiwari, who was in the chair, tried to run the Question Hour, but the opposition members created a ruckus pressing for their demand. The Chair also requested members to allow a question Hour, but in vain. Amidst din, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2:00 PM. Earlier, when the House met at 11 AM, the opposition members pressed for discussion on the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll in Bihar and other issues. They had given adjournment notices related to their demand, but the Deputy Chairman Harivansh rejected their notices, citing a ruling by the Chairman earlier. He informed the House that 25 adjournment notices were received from different parties, including Congress, TMC and DMK. The Deputy Chairman appealed to the opposition members to allow Zero Hour so that the members can raise their issues, but the opposition continued their protest, leading to the adjournment of the House till noon.
