BJP has launched an all-out attack on Congress over Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s statement on change to the constitution for quota to a particular minority group. Talking to reporters outside parliament, BJP MP Sambit Patra said that the statement is not just Mr Shivakumar‘s own remarks but reflects the views of the Congress party and the Gandhi family.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi, Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Congress over religion-based reservation and called its policymaking short-sighted. He added that such a reservation is not permissible by the constitution and accused the Karnataka government of violating it

Meanwhile, Congress has accused the BJP of stalling the proceedings in Parliament. Talking to reporters, party MP Pramod Tiwari alleged that the ruckus by the treasury bench in Parliament shows that the ruling party wants to pass important legislation in the din. He said the government has already passed the demand for grants of different Ministries by applying guillotine.

Another Congress MP Shashi Tharoor alleged that the ruling party, whose responsibility it is to run the Parliament has chosen to disrupt the Parliament which is disappointing.
