Close on the heels of Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman’s press conference in which he sought clarification from the BJP as to why Biplab Kumar Deb resigned the ruling party came out with a strong counter saying that what Roy Barman said only reflected his utter frustration.
BJP state spokesman Subrata Chakraborty said Roy Barman’s allegations rpoved that he was still in the throes of frustration. The allegations that he levelled were completely baseless as Deb’s security details were decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“It was the MHA that provided Deb the Y-Plus security cover way back in 2016 when he was the party president. The MHA as per the central agency reports time to time reviews the security cover of the VIP and if so required the centre would decide and revise the security cover’ Chakraborty told the reporters.
Speaking to the media at BJP state headquarters, he also pointed out that a former Chief Minister of the state had used central force for years.
