Ruling BJP may go for organizational reorganization within two days. The party have its new state president also soon, party insiders sat.
According to party sources, national general secretary (org) B L Santosh will be arriving here on Tuesday in the noon and immediately he will sit for meeting with state BJP leaders. Santosh will meet all the MLAs, organizational position holders and discuss about the election of the new party president of the state. The meeting will continue till Wednesday and then the candidate for the BJP president will be announced. The incumbent party president Dr Manik Saha is also Chief Minister and he will have relinquish the party position since it will not be possible for him to run the administration as well as party at the same time, that too with the assembly polls drawing near.
Besides, the election of new state BJP president, Santosh is also scheduled to hold a primary discussion on the Village Committee elections that will have to be completed by November.
Sources said, keeping in mind the present condition of the BJP it is highly likely that the central leadership will choose the state president so as to avert the squabble and factionalism. The BJP president’s post in Tripura is this time extremely crucial for the party due to the assembly polls- which is undoubtedly going to be a complex affair. In 2018 the BJP came to power sailing on the strong anti-incumbency factor against the ruling Left Front , this time the party faces the same. And as such the BJP will need a strong and slightly aggressive leader to mobilise all the units and go all guns before and during the polls. The process should start forthwith.
