
With the bye-polls looming in the Boxonagar and Dhanpur assembly seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its campaign efforts, aiming to secure victory in both constituencies. The ruling party’s leaders and ministers have been working tirelessly to bolster their chances in the upcoming elections.
Chief Minister Leads the Charge
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other prominent leaders took center stage in Boxonagar, where they actively campaigned and participated in numerous organizational events. Dr. Saha’s presence lent a significant impetus to the BJP’s efforts in the region.
Notable Defections
In a remarkable turn of events, the BJP received a substantial boost in Boxonagar as several leaders from the opposition camp officially joined the party in the presence of the Chief Minister. Prominent among these defectors were Jaidal Hossain, TMC candidate and block president; Minakshi Begam, TMC block women wing president; Joynal Hossain, TMC block minority cell president; Jakir Hossain, Congress district committee secretary; and Sharik Ahmed, CPM youth leader. Their decision to align with the saffron brigade was followed by the inauguration of the BJP’s Boxonagar mandal election office.
Active Campaigning and Personal Connect
Chief Minister Dr. Saha engaged in extensive meetings with leaders and party workers at various levels. He further reached out to the electorate through door-to-door campaigning and attended a house meeting to garner support for the BJP-nominated candidate, Tafajjal Hossain.
Campaign Message
During the house meeting, Dr. Saha underscored that casting votes in favor of those who had ruled the state for 35 years and propagated a politics of violence would perpetuate corruption, political terror, and violence. He contrasted this with the BJP’s promise of development and good governance. Dr. Saha also highlighted the absence of corruption under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the transformative changes brought about by his government for the welfare of the country.
An Appeal to the Electorate
Dr. Saha concluded his message by appealing to the people of Boxonagar to cast their votes in favor of the BJP-nominated candidate, Tafajjal Hossain, promising that it would pave the way for genuine and comprehensive development.
