BJP appoints Tripura MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as Madhya Pradesh Prabhari, while Assam leader Mriganka Deo Barman gets charge of Tripura in a fresh organisational reshuffle announced by BJP president Nitin Nabin.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a fresh organisational reshuffle, assigning new responsibilities to senior leaders across several states and Union Territories. As part of the changes, BJP national general secretary and Tripura West Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has been appointed the party’s Prabhari for Madhya Pradesh, while Assam leader Mriganka Deo Barman has been given charge of Tripura.
The organisational appointments were announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday. Under the new arrangement, Deb will oversee the BJP’s organisational affairs in Madhya Pradesh, with party leader Rekha Verma appointed as the Sah Prabhari (co-in-charge) for the state.
Deb has previously served as the Chief Minister of Tripura from 2018 to 2022. He later moved into the BJP’s national organisational structure and currently serves as a national general secretary of the party while representing Tripura West in the Lok Sabha. His latest assignment adds responsibility for the BJP’s organisational affairs in Madhya Pradesh to his existing national and parliamentary roles.
The BJP has also made a significant organisational change in Tripura by appointing Mriganka Deo Barman as the new Prabhari for the state. Barman, a BJP leader from Assam, was among the party’s national secretaries appointed during its recent national organisational restructuring. He will now coordinate and oversee the BJP’s organisational activities in Tripura.
The latest reshuffle changes the organisational arrangement for both Tripura and Madhya Pradesh. While Deb will now be responsible for coordinating the BJP’s organisational activities in Madhya Pradesh, Barman will take responsibility for the party’s organisational work in Tripura. The official appointment list identifies Barman as Tripura Prabhari without a separate Sah Prabhari listed alongside him.
For Deb, the new assignment marks another expansion of his organisational responsibilities within the BJP. Before entering the party’s national leadership, he headed the Tripura government for four years. He continues to remain active in national politics as a Lok Sabha member and BJP national general secretary.
Barman’s appointment, meanwhile, brings an Assam-based BJP leader into a key organisational role in Tripura. His new responsibility follows his inclusion in the BJP’s national team as a secretary and places him in charge of coordinating the party’s organisational activities in the northeastern state.

The changes are part of a wider BJP organisational restructuring in which new Prabharis and Sah Prabharis have been assigned responsibilities across different states. The appointments concern the party’s internal organisational coordination and state-level activities.
With the latest arrangement, Biplab Kumar Deb will handle the BJP’s organisational responsibility in Madhya Pradesh, supported by Rekha Verma, while Mriganka Deo Barman will take charge of the party’s organisational affairs in Tripura.
