The BJP has accused the Congress of winning the Nilambur Assembly bypoll in Kerala with the support of Jamaat-e-Islami. Addressing the media in New Delhi, Kerala BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused the Congress of doing politics of appeasement. He said that in 2018, former Chief Minister of Congress Oommen Chandy had also said in the Court that Jamaat-e-Islami is a dangerous and anti-national organisation. He alleged that Congress and the opposition alliance practice opportunistic politics, and they have no hesitation in shaking hands with anti-democratic and divisive forces when it suits their agenda.
