The ruling alliance of BJP-AGP swept the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election on Sunday by winning 58 out of 60 wards of GMC.
Main opposition party Congress drew blank in the GMC polls.
Out of 60 wards, BJP won 52 wards, its ally party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won 6 wards and one each by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP).
BJP had won three wards of GMC unopposed.
52.80 per cent voter turnout was registered in GMC polls held on April 22.
A total of 197 candidates were in fray in the election.
