As the whole world is gearing up to celebrate International Day of Yoga on 21st June, Bihar State Sports Authority has taken the important decision to prepare special yoga exercises to enhance the capabilities of sportspersons. The Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Sports Authority, Ravindran Shankaran, told Akashvani News that world famous Bihar Yoga Vidyalaya, Munger, will prepare special asanas dedicated to sports persons.
 
The DG said, the head of the Munger Yoga Vidyalaya, Swami Niranjanananda, has given his consent in this regard. Bihar will be the first state to prepare such a plan to improve the performance of players. Mr. Shankaran said, while preparing the special asanas, attention will be paid to which yoga asanas and pranayama will be beneficial and anxiety-relieving for particular sports disciplines. He said that under this drive, high-quality videos of the yoga asanas created for the players will be prepared and made available to players in other states of the country by the Health Department.
 
This year, a special Yoga Week will be celebrated from 16 to 21 June by the Sports Authority, in collaboration with the Health Department. Bihar School of Yoga is a world-famous institution engaged in Yoga practice, training and the spread of spiritual knowledge.
