Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has congratulated Shailesh Kumar, a resident of the state, for winning the gold medal and setting a championship record in the Men’s High Jump T63/42 category at the World Para Athletics Championships.
He said that this victory is a moment of pride not only for Bihar but for every Indian.
Mr. Kumar announced, on behalf of the Bihar government, that Shailesh Kumar will be awarded 75 lakh rupees and a citation under the State Sports Award Scheme for this historic achievement.
The Chief Minister stated that Shailesh’s victory is direct evidence of the transformation taking place in the field of sports in Bihar.
