The state government is sincerely working for welfare of the SC community. Many different types of schemes are there for the upliftment of people belonging to SC community. But many people do not know about them due to lack of proper awareness, which is why directions have been given to the officials of the department to prepare leaflets carrying information about these schemes to spread awareness among people, enunciated Welfare of Scheduled Castes Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das after inaugurating the annual general meeting of Tripura Scheduled Caste Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd. at Dasarath Bhawan, Suparibagan today.

Total 115 persons belonging SC community were provided with loans of total 2 crore 51 lakh 13 thousand rupees in the annual general meeting to help them become self-reliant in different ways. Auto-rickshaws were given to 100 persons. SC Welfare Minister handed over keys of the Auto-rickshaws to 4 beneficiaries and loan grant paper to 5 beneficiaries in the programme. He said, the previous government has left the corporation financially handicapped. The corporation is at present working with transparency. He said, the government hopes that these loans will help the beneficiaries become self-reliant. He also urged the beneficiaries upon timely repayment of the loans.

 The annual general meeting was presided over by Chairman of SC Corporation MLA Ranjit Das. He said, it has been decided to provide loans to 4 thousand persons associated with raw and dried fish business. Board of Directors member of SC Corporation Tutan Das and Chairman of Tripura Real Estate Regulatory Authority Tapas Kumar Das also delivered their speech. Others present in the annual general meeting were MLA Mimi Majumdar, Board of Directors member of SC Corporation Minakshi Das. Welcome speech was delivered by Managing Director of SC Corporation Santosh Das.
