Like every year, Bangladesh will observe the National Mourning Day on August 15 to mark the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with solemnity. As part of the observance, the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala will conduct a day-long programme.
On the fateful night of August 15 in 1975, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his family members was assassinated.
In the first phase, the programme will begin at 8 am. In this part of the programme, special prayer will be conducted for the peace of the souls. After the prayer, messages of Bangladesh Prime Minister, Foreign affairs Minister and Minister of State for Foreign affairs will be read
The second phase of the programme will begin at 11 am. After observing ‘one-minute silence, floral tributes will be paid to Bangabandhu. Later, speakers will highlight different aspects of Bangabandhu’s life and the importance of observing the National Mourning Day on August 15. The programme will come to an end with a prize distribution programme among the winners of the “Bangabandhu O Bangladesh” essay writing competition.
