Bangladeshi students, who were at the forefront of last year’s protests that ousted then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, are set to launch a political party tomorrow. The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiya Nagarik Committee announced that they would launch their political party at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital Dhaka on February 28. 

Jatiya Nagarik Committee chief organiser Sarjis Alam announced at a press conference in Dhaka on Monday.

On Tuesday, student leader Nahid Islam resigned from the Advisory Council of the interim government as the information and broadcasting adviser amid discussions that he would join a new political party. Nahid is likely to become the convener of the new political party.
