Bangladesh: 24 eminent persons to get Ekushey Padak 2022

The government of Bangladesh announced the names of 24 eminent personalities for the award of the country’s second highest civilian honour- Ekushey Padak. The names were announced on Thursday in a press release issued by the Ministry of Culture.
Two persons have been nominated for the award under Language Movement Category, four in the Liberation war category, seven in art,music and dance category, two in social service, two in language and literature, four in research and one each in journalism, science and Technology and Education.
Mostafa MA Matin and Mirza Tofazzal Hossain Mukul, both posthumous, have been nominated for  the award in the field of Language Movement.
Freedom fighters Alhaj Principal Md Matiur Rahman, Syed Moazzam Ali (Posthumous), QABM Rahman and Amzad Ali Khandaker have been nominated under the category of Liberation War Fighters.
In the category of dance, music and art, Jinat Barkatullah has been nominated for dance; Nazrul Islam Babu (posthumous), Iqbal Ahmed and Mahmudur Rahman Benu for music; Khaled Mahmud Khan (posthumous), Afzal Hossain and Masum Aziz for acting.
Poet Kamal Chowdhury and Jharna Das Purkayastha won the award in language and literature category.Ke
MA Malek won the award for journalism. Md Anawar Hossain won the award for science and technology. Professor Dr Gautam Buddha Das has been nominated for the award in the field of education.
SM Abraham Lincoln and Sangharaj Gyanshree Mahather have been nominated in the social service category.
Dr Md Abdus Sattar Mandal, Dr Md Enamul Haque (team leader), Dr Shahanaz Sultana (team) and Dr Jannatul Ferdous (team) have been nominated under the research category.
