In Badminton, India Open tournament got underway at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi today. In the first round of Men’s Singles, HS Prannoy defeated Tien Chen Chou of Chinese Taipei.
Lakshya Sen will take on compatriot Priyanshu Rajawat later in the day, while in Women’s Doubles, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly will cross swords against fourth seeds Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida of Japan. In Men’s Doubles, Satwik sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty spearhead the home challenge.
In the Women’s Doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto will take on the Thai combination of Rawinda Prajongjai and Jongkolphan Kititharakul today.
