At Least 31 Killed in RSF Attack on Displacement Camp in Sudan’s El Fasher

Must Read

In Sudan, at least 31 people, including seven children and a pregnant woman, were killed in an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Abu Shouk displacement camp in El Fasher, in the western region. Thirteen others were injured in the assault, which involved artillery shelling.
The RSF’s ongoing siege of El Fasher has worsened critical shortages of medicine, food, and medical staff, endangering thousands of displaced civilians.

The Coordination of Resistance Committees reported that the attack began early in the morning and continued into the afternoon, causing widespread panic, displacement, and damage to homes and infrastructure.

El Fasher, the last major city in Darfur not under RSF control, has been under siege since May 2024 as part of the ongoing conflict between Sudan’s Armed Forces and the RSF. The war, which began in April 2023, has caused tens of thousands of deaths and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis.
