Tripura Chief Secretary Kumar Alok said Asian Development Bank has identified Tripura for strategic partnership.
In a tweet, the Chief Secretary, who held discussion with an ADB delegation led by ED Sameer Khare in Agartala on Tuesday, said in a tweet that the strategic partnership would facilitate greater funding for economic growth as well as regional cooperation.
“Interacted with ADB team led by Sameer Khare ED ADB at Agartala. ADB has identified Tripura for strategic partnership. This will facilitate greater funding for economic growth as well as regional cooperation,” the Chief Secretary tweeted.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will also hold a review meeting with the team of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and other officials on Tuesday.
According to official sources, the Chief Minister will hold threadbare discussions on the ADB-funded projects of various sectors including infrastructure development, rural development and power.
Meanwhile, the Asian Development Bank in November last year approved a $61 million loan and $1 million technical assistance (TA) grant for urban development in Agartala.
The ADB is presently working in the Urban Development, Power, Tourism, Industries sectors of Tripura. It has also extended financial assistance in Agartala Smart City, Power Generation and Distribution sectors of the State.
Besides, the ADB is helping the Tripura government to develop 7 district headquarters other than Agartala.
