Ashmita Chaliha wins Korea Masters women’s singles title 2026

Indian shuttler Ashmita Chaliha produced a superb comeback to win the Korea Masters 2026, beating China’s Han Qian Xi in the women’s singles final this morning. The Assam shuttler recovered from losing the opening game to prevail 14-21, 21-14, and 21-14 in 53 minutes and claim her first BWF title. Earlier, Ashmita reached the final after defeating fellow Indian Rakshitha Ramraj 21-13, 16-21, 21-13 in the semifinal yesterday. While Han outplayed South Korea’s G Kim 22-20, 18-21, and 21-14 in the other semifinal to advance to the final. Ashmita Chaliha had won the gold medal at the 2024 Asia Team Championships. At the 2019 South Asian Games, she had secured gold medals in both the women’s singles and team events.
