The rally is being held by Headquarters 101 Area to honor the martyrs and veterans of the unit.

The Rhino Motorcycle Rally, organized by Headquarters 101 Area to mark its 60th anniversary and honor the sacrifices of martyrs, veer naris, and veterans, has been praised by the Governor, reported Arunachal24.

According to him, the event will strengthen the bond between civilians and the military, and encourage the youth of the north-eastern region to consider joining the armed forces.

The Governor himself took part in the Youth Camp and Cycle Rally held in the Border District of Shi Yomi, and expressed confidence that such events will instill a sense of national pride and contribute to the development of the nation.

He urged the organizers to work closely with the district administration and spread the message of patriotism and nationalism to the people.

The Governor referred to the establishment of Headquarters 101 Area in 1962 and its purpose, stating that the recent motorcycle rally is a manifestation of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav movement led by our esteemed Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

With the objective of engaging with the youth in the North Eastern States and encouraging them to enlist in the Indian Army, the Rhino Motorcycle Rally commenced its 15-day journey on April 9, 2023, from Shillong.

The team, comprising of 10 skilled motorcycle riders led by Col Pankaj Chaturvedi, will traverse a total distance of 2061 km through six states, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram, before concluding their expedition at Shillong on April 23, 2023.
