The total number of devotees having darshan in Amarnathji cave has reached over one lakh 11 thousand, within the first six days of the pilgrimage. Over 18 thousand pilgrims performed Darshan in the holy cave yesterday.  Reacting to it, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, said the journey of faith, holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, has surpassed 1 lakh pilgrims within the first six days of the pilgrimage.
 
In a social media post, Mr Sinha said the yatra is continuing smoothly on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes and is expected to draw more devotees in the coming days.
 
Meanwhile, under strict security arrangements, another batch of 7579 pilgrims, that is the 8th batch from Jammu, left Bhagwati Nagar  Yatri Niwas base camp early this morning, for the Kashmir valley to perform pilgrimage to Amarnath Cave Shrine. The pilgrims left the base camp in a cavalcade of 302 vehicles early this morning. The batch included 5719 Men, 1577 Women, 40 Children, 167 Sadhus & 76 sadhvis ( female sadhus).
 
Of these,3031 pilgrims left for Baltal base camp at 3:25 AM and 4548 for the Pahalgam base camp at 3:40 AM from where they will proceed for their further journey to the holy cave.
