Amra Bangali’ of Kalyanpur Unit reiterated the demand for compensation to the victims’ families of ethnic violence in Kalyanpur and other areas across the State.
The Kalyanpur Party unit on Wednesday pressed for their 5 points charter of demands with the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kalyanpur Block and demanded an administrative intervention on the ‘Greater Tipraland’ bill which was recently passed by the TTAADC.
Their demands also included government aid for the deprived families of the people who were victimized during ethnic violence and massacre which started in 1980, legal actions against the persons or groups involved with the incident with the massacre at Kamalnagar in Kalyanpur and other areas.
After tabling the deputation with the BDO, the ‘Amra Bangali’ threatened to launch massive agitation if their demands are not fulfilled. Meanwhile, the BDO Esther Jongte received the deputation and assured of forwarding the demands to the higher authority for further necessary action.
Meanwhile, in a press meet in Agartala, Amra Bangali State Unit condemned the alleged attacks on Trinamool Congress leaders in Agartala in recent times.
