Akashvani’s FM Gold is celebrating its anniversary today, marking 24 years since its launch on 1st September, 2001. Originally known as AIR FM-II, the channel was introduced as a 24/7 news and entertainment platform by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Run by Prasar Bharti’s Akashvani, FM Gold broadcasts a mix of news, current affairs, and entertainment, catering to a wide audience with its unique programming.
Some of its popular programmes include Surkhiyon Mein, Spotlight and Money Matters. The platform has also played a significant role during the Covid 19 pandemic, organizing health related programmes and educating the public.
